You probably would have better luck with Linux Mint. Those of us who use/like it do so because once you get past the initial hurdles, it's rock solid and also it is a nice middle ground between fixed and rolling release distros. Hey OP, you already got responses that cover pretty much everything, but here's my input.įedora is a really good distro, but it is not super beginner friendly. So, overall, if you have plenty of free time to learn and nothing else to do or doing a new computer-science learning project, this is the distro but if you want to carry with your day then its not. Tried Downloading but themes do not work/install its not out of the box like windows - click and done with Fedora you cant get on with your day, everything has to be researched like finding needle in haystack.
A sort of start menu can be installed but its on the top along side activities menu which is a large slab.
HANDBRAKE LINUX FEDORA INSTALL
Went to google to find gnome tweaks for fedora and a website said to "sudo apt install gnome-tweaks" which does not even work. Having no start menu or panel it was a new experience with a annoying learning curve having to swipe the mouse to the top left corner of the screen every time finding it very impractical to use, cant even set a new wallpaper by using the right-clicking the mouse. In firefox i installed the lastpass extention and before logging in i have to accept the user agreement but cant scroll down to click the agree button neither can i extend the pop theres no minimise/maximise buttons - had to spend time finding it wasting a bit of time. It is a nightmare to use and the worst user experience.
